HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOL

The Crested Crane Bwindi Hotel is now fully open from 4th July following Uganda Government and the Ministry of Health advice.

We have completed a full COVID-19 risk assessment for the hotel and made many changes in aimed at reducing the spread of COVID-19.
We expect these changes to remain in place until the government advises that they are no longer necessary.

A summary of these actions are included below:

For Restaurant Customers

  1.   Some tables have been removed to allow social distancing.
  2.   Contactless menus or paper menu are wipe-clean and sanitized after each use.
  3.   Tables are not set before arrival
  4.   Sanitizer available throughout the restaurant and at entrance
  5.   Extra signages advising guests of new procedures.
  6.   Doors are always opened for natural air circulation.
  7.   Extra cleaning and sanitizing throughout the day.
  8.   Distancing markers around the restaurant to encourage social distancing.
  9.   Contact tracing details are collected from all customers
  10.   Debit Card and Mobile Money payments encouraged wherever possible.
  11.   Hand-sanitizing stations in common areas of hotels, including food preparation areas, restaurants that remain open and common guest areas

For Hotel Guests

  1.   Contactless check-in and sanitized keys and hand sanitizer at reception desk.
  2.   No luggage assistance given unless requested
  3.   Room is sanitized after cleaning and then locked.
  4.   Contactless breakfast can be ordered to table.
  5.   Contactless check-out with key drop-box for sanitizing.
  6.   Regular temperature checks for staff & guests
  7.   Mandatory face masks for staff & guests.

For Staff

  1.   Regular temperature checks for all staff and guests
  2.   Social distancing in place throughout the premises
  3.   Frequent hand washing with running water & soap enforced
  4.   Staff belongings stored in sealed bags separately.
  5.   Mandatory wearing of masks by staff and visitors.

Our employees are undergoing additional clean training, including proper handwashing, physical distancing, and sanitization protocols.
We have notices in public areas to inform guests about the situation and protective measures they can take and our reception desk is equipped with contacts of local health authorities.
